The School of Philosophy, Anthropology and Social Inquiry History and Philosophy of Science

Postgraduate Courses

Postgraduate study in the History and Philosophy of Science program is even more eclectic than the teaching program. It leads students to systematically consider the process whereby scientific knowledge is generated and used.

The postgraduate community includes honours, masters and PhD students from every part of the department, including Social Theory and Computer Applications. History and Philosophy of Science and Social Theory have a distinguished research record and the academic staff and honorary fellows are able to supervise across a wide range of subject areas. Shared supervision with other departments and faculties is also common.

The School of Philosophy, Anthropology and Social Inquiry is able to offer good accommodation for postgraduates in the Old Quad Building, and the School of Graduate Research provides a wide range of support programs, short courses and writing-up facilities. The History and Philosophy of Science program has its own library and postgraduates are integrated into the collegial life of The School of Philosophy, Anthropology and Social Inquiry.
