Honours in History and Philosophy of Science
Prerequisites
The prerequisites for entry to fourth-year honours in Development Studies are:
completion of all the requirements for the BA;
completion of a major in History and Philosophy of Science;
an average of H2A or higher over the second/third-year subjects within the major.
Application Procedure
Applications for honours entry are made via the University of Melbourne on-line application system.
After submitting application details via the web, your application must be printed and lodged, with any necessary attachments, at the Faculty of Arts Office preferably by 31 October (for semester one entry) or 31 May (for semester two entry). However please note that late applications until the beginning of semester may be considered.

If you are offered a place, you will be sent a research proposal form (120kb pdf) that must be submitted before December 14th.

Course Requirements
Students undertaking honours in Development Studies must complete the following course structure (consisting of 100 points of study):
HPS Thesis 12,000 words (37.5 points)
Five honours subjects in history and philosophy of science (totalling 62.5 points).
